The Waste Electronic and Electrical Equipment (WEEE) Regulations 2006 aim to reduce the amount of WEEE being disposed of. The regulations require that EEE (Electronic and Electrical Equipment) producers pay for the reuse, recycling and recovery of EEE.
If your business is an importer, re-brander or manufacturer of EEE and you place EEE on the UK market then it's likely that you are a producer under the regulations. If you are a producer you will need to join a producer compliance scheme that will ensure your legal obligations are met and will obtain evidence of re-use, recovery and recycling on your behalf.
You must be a member of a scheme by 15 November each year.
If you start to place EEE on the market partway through the year you have 28 days to join a producer compliance scheme.
With three categories of membership (non-VAT, fixed-price and full), our WEEE compliance scheme caters for all producers, regardless of size.
Members of Clarity’s WEEE scheme can take full advantage of our expertise and guidance at every stage of the WEEE regulations process.
